Since 1870 it has been the house of Parliament and it's a symbol of the unification of Italy. Inside the building there are several antique and modern works of art.

Forum Boarium and Velabrum
This part of the town was the cattle market of Rome (Forum Boarium) next to the port of Rome. The ancient monuments still visible in this area include two exceptionally well preserved temples, the imperial Arch of Janus, two medioeval churches and the famous Mouth of Truth.

Colosseum
The Colosseum, or Flavian amphitheater, is one of the few remaining evidences of the glory of ancient Rome. The name "Colosseum" derives from the colossal statue of Nero which stood on the site of the Domus Aurea, near the amphitheater.
