The Forum of Julius Caesar
For his forum Caesar chose a central position at the foot of the
Capitol, near the old Roman Forum which had by the time become simply
too small to serve the needs of the capital of a territory that
embraced almost all of the known world.
The Forum was consecrated in 46 B.C. and later finished by Augustus.
It was the first of the so-called Imperial Forums,
It is usually closed but it can be clearly seen over the railings
(see the photo).
