 Rome - Piazza Navona

Piazza Navona

This square, the most famous of Baroque Rome, covers the site of Domitian's stadium. The long and narrow shape of the square is due to Emperor Domitian (86 AD). Now, the real attraction for the tourists is Bernini's famous "Fountain of the Four River" (1651) which occupies the centre of the square.
