Tiberina Island
The island of Rome. The small island in the Tiber, known as the
"Isola Tiberina", was the subject of many legends connected with the origins
of Rome. Two bridges join the island to the rest of the city: "Ponte Fabricius"
built in 62 B.C. and still intact today, and "Ponte Cestio" built in 46
B.C.
