Spanish Steps
At the top of the Spanish steps is the Church of the Trinità dei
Monti, one of the most impressive of the Franciscan churches in
the city. It was begun in 1503 by Louis XII but was severely damaged
by French revolutionaries and was completely rebuilt in 1816. Now
is French property and tje convent is occupied by Ladies of the
Sacred Heart.
The famous "scalinata". The steps begin in "Piazza di Spagna"
and rises to "Piazza Trinità dei Monti". From the upper terrace
there is an excellent view of the city.
